MUSICIAN INFO

From a young age Ayca has always been fascinated by music. At the age of four she started ballet and tap dancing where she was exposed to classical and jazz music. Later in jr. high she played in the band on Saxophone. As she got older and started to realize her talent for playing the saxophone she decided to become more focused and switch to Oboe and started planning  her classical career.
In junior and senior year of high school she attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and from there she graduated from Loyola University with a B.A.in Oboe Performance. She then went on to get a Masters in Music from Michigan State University in Oboe Performance. After freelancing in Washington DC for a year, she moved to Knoxville after winning an audition for second oboe in the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. Once in Knoxville She became interested in the local music scene and would play as a guest performer and sing back up vocals.
Some of her hobbies include gardening, cooking, exercising, exploring her Turkish heritage, and last but certainly not least is Karaoke. It was through Karaoke that she met her husband who proposed to her doing that very thing. It was around this time that she decided to expand her music career as a vocalist and really explore her voice as a musical instrument. She draws from a wide array of genres and artists from Ella Fitzgerald and Fleetwood Mac, to Radiohead and Aretha Franklin.
